Ivory Coast and Senegal have been drawn
together in the African zone World Cup qualifying playoffs.
Sabri Lamouchi's Ivory Coast, ranked as the top
African nation by FIFA by some distance, will host the first leg but the return
will be held at a neutral venue.
Senegal are banned from hosting games throughout World
Cup qualifying after fans rioted during an African Nations Cup game,
coincidentally against the Ivorians in October 2012.
Tunisia, reinstated
into the World Cup after Cape Verde Islands fielded an ineligible player
against them earlier this month, will play out another high profile playoff
against Cameroon.
Egypt and Ghana will also meet in a tie which has little to
separate the two nations.
Nigeria will be overwhelming favourites to deny Ethiopia
their first-ever appearance at the World Cup, with the final tie seeing Burkina
Faso hoping to make their bow by ousting 2010 finalists Algeria.
Seeded: Ivory
Coast, Ghana, Algeria, Nigeria, Tunisia
Unseeded: Burkina
Faso, Cameroon, Egypt, Senegal, Ethiopia
