In an amazing night at the Liberty Stadium, former Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey had plenty of action at both ends but the match finished in a deserved draw.
Much has been made about the inflated cost of Premier League football of late.
Swansea City last night served up a game that few would begrudge paying for.
More importantly, though, they made a priceless point while taking one in as they matched a Liverpool side who had been enjoying their best start to a season in two decades.
Namely that this side are not only capable of keeping to the standards set by last year's historic season, but can improve on them again such were the levels of performance at times.
That they did not collect the win their second-half play deserved was down to themselves. Or, perhaps more accurately, down to one man's mistakes.
Indeed, Jonjo Shelvey is perhaps the one person at the Liberty last night who wouldn't want to watch this entertainment-full fixture again – even if he had a goal and an assist to boast of.
Playing against a former side always suggests you will have a key role in the game, but no-one could guess just how integral the England midfielder would be to the story of this match.
Scoring the opener less than two minutes into the game, the 21-year-old was then crucially at fault as his badly thought-out back-pass played Daniel Sturridge in to equalise less than two minutes later.
And while the blame was less direct when Liverpool grabbed a second nine minutes before the break, it was his pass that was pounced upon by scorer Victor Moses.

Yet both Shelvey and Swansea showed the character and class to rise up and retaliate in the right manner. He could have easily added to his night by seeing red – and you feared he might after an altercation with Lucas Leiva – but instead he saw Swansea level when he set-up Michu for a 64 minute equaliser.
