The Delta State Sports Commission today inaugurated a new board for the Warri Wolves club.The Chairman, Delta State Sports Commission, Mr Amaju Pinnick, who pointed out that the club is one of the few clubs that meets all the obligations of its players, assured that the newly inaugurated board will be given a free hand to run the club, given the calibre of persons in the board so that “winning will be their culture and discipline their basis”.
Pinnick charged the new board to redefine and take the club to where they belong in the League, promising to give them free hand to operate. He also urged the new board to work together and see that brotherly love exists as Warri Wolves is an asset which should be well managed.
He declared that Warri Wolves was the only Club in the Country which had met its obligation to players and officials in the last season and thanked Delta State Governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan, who gave the nod for the formation of the Club and who had been supporting them.
“The Club has produced players for the National team in its six years of existence and must continue to thrive to be a role model in the Country,” said Pinnick.
Responding on behalf of the Board, the Managing Director/CEO, Davidson Owumi, promised to carry everybody along and do their best to meet the aspirations of the Government.
He further thanked the Commission for theappointment and vowed to lift the Club to an enviable position in the League.
