                               HAPPY MARRIAGE:  THE UNMISTAKABLE LOVE

No amount of words can describe what my eyes witnessed in the exemplary marriage life of Mr and Mrs. Olasehinde popularly known as Iya Aluta and Baba Aluta at Elkanemi hall of Residence in university of Lagos, Nigeria.

Despite the realistic view we hold about the crumbling and unhappy marriages among the this century youths and adults alike, these figures stand out to vehemently say no to their own case. My conversation with one of their children, Miss Damilola Olasehinde, about the overt display of love shown by their parents, shows apparently and without mincing of words, there is abundance of this love in secret. She convincingly asserted that love in marriage cannot be in disguise, that what is actually shown outside portrays what goes on in the inside.

At the sunset of 16th September, 2013. Though, this might not be the first and the last to witness the kind of conversation that ensued between the two adults, but the impression that led to the writing of this publication was so breathe-taking and cannot be forgotten in a hurry.  The conversation goes thus:

Mr. Olasehinde( the husband):

 “Mummy, I need Card i.e call card”

Mrs. Olasehinde ( the wife):

 ”Daddy, you know I am a merciful person and I am always willing to help whoever    needs     help”

This short conversation among the couple caught my attention which I quickly held Dammy, their first female child, on conversation to actually define what “Happy Marriage is”.  Dammy without any thought on mind told me emphatically that “Happy marriage” entails love and complacency between the couple concerned and she quickly added that, “ peace in marriage cannot be overemphasized”.

Unknowingly to the parents, we finalized our talk and promised to make this as publication on the Empowered Network site to serve as lessons to others who may in one way experiencing hardship and difficulty in their marital life, as well as, to lay a portrait for the coming generations of couples.

To this end and unreservedly, I assuredly say that Mr. and Mrs. Olasehinde are perfect examples to their children, to all Elkanemi Hall residents and to the University of Lagos community at large.
